Earthquake!

I was awakened this morning (about 4:50) to a shaking bed...
We have a two story house (all the bedrooms are upstairs) and our bed is on risers. It was really shaking! I had no idea what was going on, unlike Jason. I asked him what was up and he said, "Earthquake!" He survived several on his mission in California, including the "big" one in San Francisco in 1989. He was out tracting (knocking on doors) when that one happened.
We gathered up the kids (everyone was already awake, except Harrison). Harrison was very asleep. When I finally woke him up, he thought we were having a drill. I had to let him know that this was the real thing. He was bummed that he slept through his first earthquake. Jacob said he thought someone was shaking his bed and was "ready to punch them" (he is 13...). We came down and waited for the local news. At first they reported a 5.4, but have since said a 5.2. Honestly, I think this is exciting. Thankfully no injuries have been reported and some minor structural damage.
I bet the cannery will be busy next Friday night :)

I am glad that you guys were all okay. I didn't know that you got earthquakes in your neck of the woods.

We had an earthquake here our first Sunday that we lived here. I was blowdrying my hair and I thought it was a train - loud and rumbley. I thought, "Oh, gees, we bought a house close to train tracks! No wonder it was such a good price!" That night on the news we saw it was an earthquake.

2 am for you is 11 pm for me (or maybe midnight). I was waiting for my teens to come home from a stake dance, or post-dance Shari's run. I usually am in bed by 9. I love to sleep!

I bet that was fun for you to go through. :) I am trying to remember the one that Tifani said she went through. I am sure I was there, probably not paying attentions as usual. Now, I don't have earthquakes, but get to look forward to massive thunderstorms and what ever else. But I love it here.
