Hey, save me some of that corn!

If you have never seen Nacho Libre, you might want to skip this entry...
This is a weird movie that Harrison has been quoting for a while (Like, "Save me some of that corn..."). Jacob starting joining in and talking about "stretchy pahnts". I found that when he was grumpy or grouchy (have you ever lived with a 12 almost 13 year old boy/man???), getting him to talk about the pants brought a smile to his face and made life sunnier all of a sudden.
There seems to be a male Raubach link between flatulence and laughing insanely... this movie is NOT a disappointment for them. Cooper keeps talking about "I want to weeee!" (i.e. "I want to win"). He has also started to dive off things with his hands above his head (like Ignacio diving off the cliff after he drinks the eagle egg - blech!)I finally watched the whole movie last night. It is odd, but funny in its own way.
I think this one will be in our family collection - and vocabulary - for a long time.

I have heard that is a very funny movie. I haven't seen it, but I am sure one day I will. I love being able to read your blog and keep in touch.

I didn't think that movie was very funny. Maybe I was in a mood, because I LOVE funny movies. For weeks after we watched it the kids would find a wall, any wall, and do a butt-clench.

Probably added to my dislike of the movie.

I was also going to say that humor is the ONLY thing that has kept my 15 year old son alive. It's a good thing that he has one and that he can quote a movie line when necessary. It is also a good way for us to defuse situations.

We quote movie lines ALL the time for parenting. It really works -

"No touchy" , "You gonna kiss your mother with that mouth?" "Did you try windex?"

I could go on ...

I have to say that laughing is the best thing for everything. I haven't seen this movie, but there are many others that I can just about quote. I love to laugh..
