Oldies, but Goodies

We were driving home from Kentucky one day and Cooper says, "Hey Mom, look at me!". I turned around to see this sight...

Cooper said he was Gomer Pyle!

He wanted to make sure I took pictures of his cool hat (like what Gomer wears).

I was thinking that it was neat that our kids do enjoy the old shows. Jason's all time favorite show is Andy Griffith... and the kids all enjoy it too. I think my all time favorite is The Cosby Show.

I LOVE old black and white movies. I was introduced to them - ooh ooh movies - by my Father in law (I think Dad in law is more appropriate... have I ever mentioned what incredible in-laws I have??). When a good old black and white was about to come on, my Dad in law - Fred - would say, "Ooh! Ooh!" Thus the name. I love being able to watch a movie and not worry about what is to come.
If you have not yet experienced a really good old movie, here are some of my favorites you might want to start with:
Casablanca - play it again Sam
Random Harvest (a great chick flick - but Jason really liked it too)
Gaslight - Ingrid Bergman and Charles Boyer, and a VERY young Angela Lansbury - can't go wrong with that combination
The Bachelor and the Bobby Soxer - a funny light hearted comedy with Myrna Loy, Cary Grant and Shirley Temple
Suspicion - good suspense - with Cary Grant and Joan Fontaine - a great Alfred Hitchcock
The Best Years of Our Lives - Set after WWII
Notorious - yet another Cary Grant, Ingrid Bergman, Claude Rains
Saboteur - old Hitchcock - great!

Well, I really could go on and on, but here are a few to get you going.
I'd love to hear your recommendations :)
And let me know what you think.

I love his hat!! I want one just like it... I have to tell you this.. I went to the Journey concert last weekend and there was a guy there that had made a cowboy hat out of a coors light box. It was too funny. I should have gotten a picture, but I didn't. Very creative.
