Labor of Love

I have been working on this quilt for Amanda for quite a while now (just like all my other projects :)
She picked out the fabric. I used charm packs - they are fun to work with. This started out as a "lap" quilt, but I kept adding on and adding on. Now it will fit nicely on her day bed.

This was my first experience free motion quilting on an actual quilt and not a small practice piece. I know I have a lot to learn, but it was FUN!

By free motion quilting, does that mean by hand like my mom does it, or what??? Mom used to ask if I wanted to help with those and I tried once. I can not sit still long enough to do that and the conversation that was going on while that was happening, was a little less than interesting.... :)

Thanks for letting me in.

WOW! That is really beautiful Elizabeth! I love the designs! Did you just use your regular sewing machine or do you have access to a quilting machine?

GREAT WORK!

So far I have not attempted such a project, having been scared away from trying to piece a quilt and make all those crazy squares match up! You are amazing! It's beautiful!
