remodel - o - rama...

Okay - finally some pics to show of some of what we have been up to around here.
I must say this project took longer than we thought and I am so grateful we are close to the finish line.
this room is what we refer to as Dad's room -
his 'mancave' so to speak.

As usual, I forgot to take real before  pictures.
Oh well.
They would not have been too exciting anyway.
This is sort of a before - it shows the red color we painted about 8 years ago.  This used to be an open wall into what used to be the dining room (but is now my craft room).  Jason built this wall and openings for his  stereo equipment.
We were both ready for a change...
We had a really cute little kitten that peed all over this room and it STUNK up the carpet.  Pee Yoo!

This started us on a quest to replace the flooring.  Our first thought was for more carpet, but after pricing it out we decided to search for a good incredibly ridiculously great deal on hardwood flooring AND we were blessed enough to find it!  They had EXACTLY the amount we needed on clearance.  Yee Haw!  I do love a great bargain :)

This is Jason contemplating the work is is about to undertake...

This is me admiring my toes and looking at the nasty carpet we are about to say farewell to!

Picking out paint colors...
Painting all the dark trim white (a task I still need to finish - including baseboards...)
Poor man did end up in urgent care one night and ended up having to have 5 or six stitches in a finger he whacked really hard with a heavy metal hammer :(

Also the nailer was REALLY loud (not to mention the miter saw), so these were his homemade earplugs...
Everybody pitched in at one point or another.
I think we all got a bit tired of it after awhile...
(Sorry Jared, I couldn't resist!)

But, eventually we made it to the end!

Now time to move on to the next the next project...
Right sweetie??

paint colors:
walls - restoration hardware - slate
trim - valspar - kitchen and bath - ultra white

floor:
vintage - amazonia -- brazillian cherry (jatoba)

Elizabeth, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the way your room turned out. It is amazing to me how a room can be transformed that way with A LOT of hard work. Now you need to come over and let me spa you. :)
